Double meaning, right?
With all the sickness and even death around, I have often asked the question: Why? After all “God is not a man that he should lie”. And it is he who says: Exodus 15:26 ... "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you." My only logical conclusion is that we, who believe, are doing something wrong, which is putting God's people outside of the Covenant of promise and blessing, even if they are ultimately going to be saved by faith. After all the word also says: Hosea 4:6 [My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Notice that in these versus and other's, the troubles of Israel are often clearly linked to ignoring his commands. BEFORE I CONTINUE, I WANT ALL WHO READ THIS TO CLEARLY UNDERSTAND. I HAVE ASKED MYSELF THE DIFFICULT QUESTION. WHY MY BELIEVING ASSOCIATES AND FRIENDS? WHY THEM AND NOT ME. I HAVE FAILED MORE THAN MOST, SO HOW HAVE I ESCAPED? I AM NOT HERE TO JUDGE ANYONE. I ACCEPT THAT GOD IS SOVEREIGN AND SOMETIMES SEEMS TO STEP OUT OF WHAT SEEMS JUST AND FAIR TO US FOR A GREATER PURPOSE. JOB IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE. Nevertheless, to continue, to my mind, the biggest problem with the modern day church is that that they are preaching a gospel without repentance and the abolishment of the law, that Yeshua himself said he did not come to abolish and that Jeremiah prophesied would be written on our hearts in the new covenant. One may logically assume, that an Old Testament prophet speaking of the law in this way, is clearly referring to every one of the ten sayings or commandments, at very least, if not the entire Torah. It seems to me, as the end draws near, God is making sure the truth will get to us, even if over our dead bodies, or those of our brothers and sisters. For judgement begins with the house of God. The solution is obvious. "Shema, Oh Israel". Hear and obey oh Israel. Derek Prince seems to have come to a similar conclusion, many years back, being one of the greatest teachers in recent history. Devotional by Derek Prince. Hearing God's Voice - God’s medicine: listening to His voice There was a time in my life when I was sick in hospital and doctors couldn’t heal, me. At that time, I had to seek God for how I could receive healing from Him. As I studied the Scriptures in that context, I discovered that almost every place where God speaks about being healed, the emphasis is on what we listen to, just as it is here. “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, I will put none of these diseases upon thee.” I believe that’s true today. I believe that those of us who learn to listen to God with both ears, to listen to God’s voice and obey Him, can lead a life that’s free from sickness and many other plagues and problems. A little further on in the Book of Exodus, in Exodus 19, when Israel came to the foot of Mount Sinai, Moses went up and the Lord spoke to him and gave him a message to the children of Israel. Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagle’s wings, and brought you unto Myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is mine. And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation (Exodus 19:3-6). Notice again, the primary emphasis, the first condition: “If ye will obey My voice, then My will will be worked out for you; you’ll be a unique people, different from all other people, living on a higher level, living in an area of provision and blessing unknown to other people, but the primary requirement is, if ye will obey My voice.” I’d like to point out just three phases of God’s dealings with Israel as revealed in that passage. First of all, God says that He brought Israel to Himself. That’s the primary purpose of redemption always: to come to God, personally. Secondly, God said, “I want you to obey My voice.” That’s what leads us into the provisions of God. Thirdly, He said, “If you’ll keep My covenant.” God’s covenant is the way He settles and finalizes His relationship with the people. And fourthly, He said, “You’ll be a kingdom of priests.” You’ll be a unique people, blessed above all other peoples, distinct from all other peoples. And that’s the order; brought to God, obeying His voice, keeping His covenant, and so becoming a kingdom of priests. Father, thank You that I can come to You, through the Blood of Your Son Jesus Christ, very close, very personal, in Your presence. Help me to obey Your voice, to remain in Your grace, to offer You sacrifices of praise and worship. In Jesus’ Name, amen! You can can support the Derek Prince pages on Facebook here, which I highly recommend: https://www.facebook.com/dpmlegacy/ Some will, of course, disagree strongly with the view I have presented here, but for others, this may be a ticket out of Hell. I myself have been close to death’s door once, with a strangulated hernia and no Doctors were available to help in emergency. Maybe it was just as well. All I could do was to cry out loud, unashamedly for God to save me. He came to my rescue pretty well instantly. God willing I will relate that miraculous event some other time. I do realise that some things, we will perhaps never understand fully, this side of the grave and we cannot put God in a box, no matter how hard we try. So there are always exceptions, to what I have suggested broadly above. Job is a perfect example. And the story of the man born blind, perhaps speaks loudly into this dilemma, when he answered the desciplies: John 9:3 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. Please listen to my song below, and know that, if you are sick, God really wants to heal you. He healed Job and even the blind man. He is not asking for you to do anything, not to even Shema, first, in order to get that healing. He heals because you cry out to Him and heals you because you hope in the blood of Yeshua (Jesus). But, if you read His word, you may well hear him say to you what he said to this man and if you listen, surely you would also keep your healing: John 5:14 [14] Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you."
